long haulin'
RmC sent out a little email yesterday about his adventures with the buchanan gc flatbed work truck. it reminded me of my time working for buchanan gc and selling christmas trees when i was driving the flatbed and other dump trucks around.
funny thing, a big truck. i loved workin' with the flat bed. diesel. burly. tough. i could hop out of the truck in my carharts and work boots and stare down any dude. cowboys and white trash struck up conversations with me all the time. i was their idol. one time, when i was haulin' trees i parked with the trucks and some guy started talking to be about truckin'. i played along. when i was driving i-5 with all those trees the big trucks paid me respect, letting me into their caravans and what not.
little did they know i'm a spandex wearin' pansy with shaved legs.
