state champ road race
the state road race was this last weekend. a very frustrating race. last year i attacked a lot and just got tired by the time the break went. i was more conservative with my attacking (plus i had ian and andrew attacking relentlessly) as i realized that break aways were going to be hard to get going. i was right. later in the race it seemed like the race was going to split but again, no break away managed to get much more than 200-300 meters away.
in the end the race came down to a group sprint. i thought i'd be ok for that but somehow my legs pretty much shut down just before sprint time and i started seeing stars, so i packed it in. my teammate morgan schmidt came up with third place, which is great. we gave getting the win out of a break a go. that didn't work and we managed third, so in all it wasn't a bad race for us.
