what condition my condition is in
yep, i just dropped in. yeah, yeah, ah yeah.
first race was on saturday. what does that mean? who knows. unlike other riders, i really limit my intervals before racing. my base really focuses on long endurance intervals and i leave off the harder stuff. that said, i can typically race pretty well but long bridges are not well supported. didn't warm up much for the race, and definitely paid a price for that. i was content to let the eager guys take care of things early and they definitely did. ian and chad got into the first real break, which was more of a splintering off the front. they dangled for a quite a bit, mostly within sight. i covered a move and found myself on the front when a a valley rider attacked from the front. nobody followed so i jumped and got to his wheel rather easily and saw that we had a gap, so i opted to go for it. it would put 3 broadmark riders in and 2 valley. that would be about 30% broadmark, solid broadmark. anyway, we traded pulls and made steady progress on the break but the pack looked to be strung out behind us. we hit the small rise in the climb, which happens to had a head wind as well. i put in a good pull and little archibald came past me a bit quicker than i expected and i was gapped. at this point, being in the red for some time, my legs were getting pretty heavy. another guy, out of nowhere came past us and archibald punched it to get on his wheel and i just didn't have it. too many matches burned.
archibald and his teammate, campbell, sat on the break and generally rode in an frustrating fashion, but he won, so what can you say? we'll see how that plays out for them going forward, given other teams' frustrations. chad brought it in for third but didn't have a number pinned, so he was relegated.
so what condition is my condition in? fairly good, i think.
